I glanced through the trees of the dark gray forest, tasting the torrid air, scanning for a glimmer of sunlight through the elusive leaves. I departed our safe haven of sand and grass, with growing haste and quickening pace. The trees began to mock my desperation with deceitful shadows, grasping at me with their tormenting branches. I ran even further, to the edge of the forest and back again, through the imprisoning path of my timberland maze. My breath grew thin, as I conquered a cliff to our once safe spot. You were no longer there. Instead in your place spread a beautiful tiger. I gazed upon her hungry eyes she acknowledged my presence with growling fangs. In the mid air her intent pounce, I suddenly woke up, with you back in my arms: once again safe.
